3. Objective

The main objectives of the annex are to develop and demonstrate items shown below:

• The clear definition on occupant behaviors
• The approach to describe occupant behaviors quantitatively, and set up a model for occupant behaviors
• New methodologies for analyzing building total energy use and to investigate the factors, especially occupant behaviors, that influence the total energy use.
• Models to simulate influence of human behaviors on energy
• Methodologies and techniques for monitoring of total energy use in buildings including hardware & software platforms
• Demonstrate how monitored data can be used to provide meaningful indicators of building energy performance
• Methodologies to predict total energy use in buildings and to assess/evaluate the impacts of energy saving policies and techniques
• A database for building energy
• A statistic model for national or regional building energy data including the influence of Occupant behavior
