The possible research contents are listed as following:

1)
To establish a harmonized methodology for energy consumption case study of buildings. The methodology will be used to process and present the actual energy consumption data for  real buildings. The data should be made applicable for the understanding and evaluation of energy consumption affected by an integration of climate, building performance, technique system, operation manner, occupiers’ behavior and indoor environment. Four main issues involved in are:
o a coherent set of definition of every building energy consumption items for each building function;
o a uniformed method for energy data conversion between primary and site energy or between different energy resources;
o accordant boundary for presentation of distinct building energy items and uniformed index of building energy data.
2)
To establish a harmonized methodology for energy consumption statistics of buildings. The methodology will be used to present actual energy consumption data for the entire building stock or for specific building function in a national/regional level. In addition of the four issues for case study listed above, two main issues for energy statistics are:
o a uniformed classification according to building function or characteristics;
o a coherent set of definition of national/regional value
3)
To select typical cases for several main building functions, which representing national/regional average data, and to obtain their detailed data for energy items (cooling, heating, domestic hot water, lighting, appliances, and so on) and information of building characteristics as well as operation and behavior.
4)
To study the reasons for difference by parallel comparison for each building function.
5)
To investigation effect of each factor that has influence on building energy consumption data.
6)
To develop a baseline for building energy consumption that can provide reference data for energy items under specific conditions of influencing factors (climate, building envelop, technique system, operation manner, occupants’ activity and indoor environment requirement) respectively. It will be a very valuable reference in standard developing, in building energy technologies validation and in validation of simulation results.
7)
To discuss the working plan for the research Procedure and working plan of the whole research content will be discussed, as well as relative projects under application or to be applied.
